Can you cater for allergies and dietary requirements?

We will always do our best to cater for everyone. If you let us know about your requirements at least 72 hours in advance we’ll pass them on to the venue and ask them to accommodate. If you have any concerns about the food on the night then please speak to a member of staff.

We understand you might want more information about the food ahead of the event - if that’s the case please contact us

Is this event inclusive ?

We try our best to make sure everyone feels included and welcome at Women in Tech York events

What if I have to cancel?

We completely understand that sometimes life happens, and you won’t be able to attend. Where possible, we ask that you cancel at least 48 hours in advance - it costs us approximately £15 per attendee to run these events, and if we have enough notice we can reduce waste by planning for less attendees.

You can cancel your ticket via Eventbrite, or you can get in touch and we’ll amend your order for you.

Arriving / Leaving

You can arrive at any time during registration, usually 18:00 - 18:30 - this time is to allow attendees to check in, get a drink and chat. We don’t formally start the event until 18:30.

You are also welcome to join us during the break (please see individual event details), or leave during the break if needed.

Getting Here

We always host our events at in York city centre - the full address for the specific event will be listed on Eventbrite. Below are some handy instructions on how to get to us, whatever your means of transport!

As York is a bustling city that is heavily pedestrianised, we advise planning your journey in advance and allowing for extra travel time, especially during peak hours. Additionally, please be mindful of any local traffic regulations and parking restrictions when choosing your mode of transport.

By Car

If you’re arriving to York via the A64, simply follow signs for York City Centre. Once in the city, there may be limited street parking available nearby, but we recommend utilising one of the city’s several secure parking facilities, such as the Q-Park Shambles or the NCP Monk Bar, all within walking distance of the venue.

Parking can be expensive, please do check the fees before you travel. You can find council car parks here. You may be better off using one of the many Park & Ride options (see Public Transport section).

By Public Transport

York boasts excellent public transport links, making it easy to reach our venue via bus or train. If you’re arriving by train, York Railway Station is just a 10 -15 minute walk away. For bus travellers, there are several bus stops are located within a 5 - 10 minute walk of all venues, with frequent services running throughout the day dependent on where you’re travelling from. You can plan your journey with First Bus, York’s bus provider.

Walking or Cycling

If you’re already in the city centre, walking or cycling is your best option. Our venues are easily accessible on foot or by bike from various points in York, with dedicated bike racks available near the Minster and Lendal Bridge for cyclists - check out the York Cycle Route map for more information.
